There is much to consider when making decisions regarding to planning and development such as federal and provincial legislation, environmental impacts, historical impacts, and the policies of our own municipality. This portion of the website lists all approved policies and bylaws that influence planning and development (Part 17 of the MGA) decisions in the Village of Heisler.

Development Bylaws and Policies

In order to achieve the Village’s vision, development in the Village should be economically, environmentally, and socially balanced. The Village should be a community where residents can enjoy a high quality of life and where new residents come to live, work and play. The following bylaws are in place to achieve this goal.

Intermunicipal Development Plans

A big aspect of planning and development is considering our surrounding neighbour Flagstaff County. The following bylaw is in place to ensure orderly development that is equitable and fair to both municipalities.

Development Authorities Bylaws:

The authorities within the following policies allow the Village to administer and manage the regulations to enforce planning and development bylaws and policies.
